The Owen Trauma Bandage (OTB)
The OTB is an innovative, multi-application compression bandage designed for rapid one-handed self-application in combat environments. The OTB excels across all standard compression bandage applications. As its primary use, the OTB is a first-aid device that is highly effective for staunching the flow of blood from traumatic hemorrhage wounds in pre-hospital emergency situations. The OTB’s unique design makes it the preferred option for stump dressing providing vastly superior application options using either the bagging or wrap methods. It is also better designed than leading competitors to treat junctional wounds and other penetrating trauma requiring wound packing. Further, it is the only bandage that can sleeve and protect full circumferential injuries and/or simultaneously splint and protect fractures while integrating with various commercial off the shelf or improvised splints. The OTB also offers a superior bagging option for dressing eviscerations impossible with other compression bandages. The extra long absorbent pad covers most forearms completely, but if you need more real estate for torso or junctional wounds, easily couple two OTBs together using our patented Quick-Connect system.
The OTB is a compression bandage designed by operators for operators. No fluff or gimmicks...just performance and maximum utility. ODSS believes in the Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) mantra of self-aid then buddy-aid and has designed its line of medical devices accordingly. The OTB is an internationally patent pending bandage and is the ideal solution for emergency treatment in austere environments when every second counts. The OTB’s intuitive design enables quick, easy, and proper application by professional and non-professional caregivers with minimal training time. In fact, the design is so simple, most organizations adopting the OTB find they can cut medical training on compression bandages down to as little as five minutes for basic application saving vast amounts of time and money. The OTB’s elastic wrap allows pressure to be evenly applied and steadily increased across the entire non-adherent pad surface without the roping effect caused by the pressure devices of other bandages to achieve the desired pressure (or lack thereof as indicated). As an additional application, an improvised windless can be used with the basic application or stump dressing to create an improvised tourniquet in necessary to further constrict blood-flow. The OTB truly lives up to its claims. It is so easy to use that even an injured person can self-apply the bandage with one hand after only seeing a simple three minute training video.
The OTB is designed and packaged to seamlessly replace and upgrade standard issue obsolete compression bandages 1 for 1 in your IFAKs. It will integrate into any Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) curriculum and cut training time down to just minutes for each application. This is possible due to its incredibly intuitive application and simple design that allows users to properly self-apply even a stump dressing using only one hand faster and more effectively than any other compression dressing on the market. Its application and use cases supports standard MARCH protocols respective of massive hemorrhaging and "stop the bleed." Don't settle for second best, upgrade your IFAKs with the OTB today.
